As a North Point Partner, GatheringPoint is a church located just outside of Chicago in Bourbannais, IL. This is a ministry that is set out to create a different kind of church that reaches outside the walls of the church and into the city in which they call home. Their mission is simple, ”to create a church that unchurched people love to attend.” GatheringPoint is a phenomenal example of what spreading the gospel looks like. They have chosen to do things differently, think outside of the box, and accomplish amazing things.
Creating a set design is not an easy task and must be done with a creative mind and the strategy to execute. Several months ago, we established a strong partnership with Joe Mantarian, who is the Media Director for GatheringPoint and together we have accomplished some great things! While working with a vision and a budget, we’ve been able to work with Joe to create some dynamic lighting and a set design that serves the ministry. It’s not overpowering, it doesn’t take away from anything that is happening on stage, but it enhances and adds a visual experience that allows the congregation, church members, and staff to be able to dive into a worship experience.
The goal is to be transparent. Technology can be helpful or harmful. The trick is identifying your ministry’s DNA and the ways that your church is wired to spread the gospel of Jesus.
